My first picture book!

I have kept this wonderful and exciting news to myself for a while now, I finally have some time to tell it to everybody! It's just a dream that finally comes true to illustrate a picture book!

A while ago I got in contact with a new publisher "The dragon" they introduced me with Saar Nelissen, a charming lady who can write wonderful stories. I was instantly hooked on her way of writing and imagination. I'm not good at making up stories and was so incredibly relieved that I could find myself in all of her writing! 

Here are some rough ideas of the main characters!
I'm still working on the characters and the first sketches of the book.

 

So ... If I feel some free time coming my way Ill' be posting a few more illustrations of the book.

Ik heb dit fantastische en spannende nieuws al een tijdje voor mezelf gehouden, eindelijk heb ik wat tijd vrij om het dan ook aan iedereen te vertellen! Het is gewoon een droom die eindelijk uitkomt, een prentenboek illustreren!

Een tijdje geleden ben ik via een nieuwe uitgeverij "De draak" in contact gekomen met Saar Nelissen, een toffe madam die dan ook nog eens prachtige verhalen op papier kan toveren. Ik noem het toveren want ik was meteen enthousiast over haar manier van schrijven en fantasie. Ik zelf ben niet goed in het verzinnen van verhalen en was dus ongelooflijk opgelucht dat ik me helemaal kon vinden in haar schrijfstijl!

Hier zijn al enkele eerste ruwe ideeën van de hoofdpersonages!

Ik ben nog volop bezig met het de personages en met de eerste schetsen van het boek.

Dus ... als ik wat vrije tijd voel aankomen dan mag je nog wat extra illustraties van het boek verwachten.

I'm not sure how long, but she has a wonderful blog with lots of beautiful watercolors and a little friend named Zoë. Vief I know only recently through the give-a-way, she has a lovely blog with charming artwork!

Eerst en vooral heel erg bedankt Brigitte en Vief voor het reageren op de give-a-way! Ik ken Brigitte nu al een tijdje. Ik ben niet zeker hoelang ik ze al ken maar ze heeft een prachtige blog met mooie aquarellen en een kleine vriend Zoë. Ik ken Vief nog maar pas via de give-a-way, op haar blog kan je mooie en schattige kunstwerkjes vinden.

Niet te geloven, meer dan 130 volgers!! Hoog tijd dus om mijn give-a-way belofte na te komen!! De winnaar krijgt niet zomaar een leuk pakketje thuis gestuurd maar eentje met een origineel aquarelletje van mezelf. Maar eerst moet je er nog iets voor doen:

"Some news ..."

I'm watching my followers counter and I realize it's actually about time for a give-a-way! Almost 130 followers who would have imagined that, thank you all for the nice messages and words full of support! So beware, if the number of followers reaches 130 I'll give you the assignments for the give-a-way!

I have more good news but you need to wait until the Christmas holidays, then I will have some more time and you can already expect new artwork!

EXCITING!

Ik ben aan het kijken naar mijn volgers aantal en ik realiseer me dat het eigenlijk eens tijd word voor een give-a-way! Bijna 130 volgers wie had dat ooit gedacht, dank je wel allemaal voor de toffe berichtjes en de woorden vol met steun!! Dus opgelet, als het volgers aantal op 130 springt dan geef ik je de opdrachtjes voor de give-a-way!!

Ik heb nog meer goed nieuws maar dat moet nog even wachten tot de Kerstvakantie, dan heb ik wat meer tijd vrij en je mag alvast nieuwe illustraties verwachten!!
